Sound Cushion is a self-levelling membrane system that
reduces acoustic transmission through various flooring
substrates. It’s also quicker and easier to apply, thus providing
a complete system alternative.
Sound Cushion was tested to ISO 140-7, ISO 717-2 &
ASTM E1007-97 and found to comply or exceed current BCA
requirements and meets the Association of Australian Acoustical
Engineers recommendations for a 4 Star development.
n The in-built self-levelling properties will level concrete and
composite flooring, eliminating “ridging” and leaving a flat level
floor with the flexibility to absorb movement.
n This product will find and fill all voids out to wall skirts giving
a complete acoustic layer wall to wall.
n Application times are dramatically reduced due to the product
characteristics.
n When laid over timber flooring Sound Cushion tightens
tongue and groove and eliminates “floor squeak”.
n Cross linking with the substrate eliminates the possibility of
“drummy tile” effect.
n Standard monoflex tile adhesives can be used.
n There are obvious benefits over rubber mat systems in the
event of fire.
n Low compression flexibility avoids the possibility of tile and
grout cracking when heavy items are moved across the surface.
n Sound Cushion will eliminate pre-surface preparation in most
cases with the built-in cross linking and levelling properties
n Substrates with the poorest surface finish can be levelled
easily and made ready to tile.
n There are no application restrictions on floor shape or size.

Application
Sound Cushion is a 2 pack system. Part A and B are thoroughly
mixed utilising a standard tile adhesive mixer then spread with
a 6mm stepped screed across the floor area. The product will
quickly find its level and settle to the wall skirts providing a
complete sound-proofing layer. Standard grouting systems can
be employed to work with Sound Cushion. n

light work of uneven floors.
