POWERFUL ROUTER
Festool new OF 2200 is unique in its performance and operation
and sets new standards in the large router class with its powerful
drive, perfect technical features, excellent ergonomics and
the highest possible precision. With its low-end torque, even
hardwoods and solid surface materials can be routed easily.
The new router gets its power from its electronic motor control
system. The triple-bearing armature shaft ensures low vibration
routing even with Australian hardwoods. The 80mm plunge depth
provides great flexibility when preparing doors, using templates
or routing mortises.
The perfectly-matched balance between the size and weight of
the OF 2200 enables the user to control the router effortlessly,
even at full power. All accessories are also designed with
ergonomics in mind: the construction of the baseplates enables
precise positioning on the workpiece, guaranteeing precise
results and ergonomic, safe work, while the parallel fence is
positioned at a 30° offset from the base, so that the router is
aligned with the direction of thrust, substantially reducing the
effort required to guide the tool. The new OF 2200 is intuitive
to use, with its rocker & ratchet cutter change system and the
fast, precise cutter depth setting, copying rings, chip catcher and
baseplates can be changed quickly and without tools by means of
the FastFix system. Centring of copying rings is automatic.
Festool has developed a new concept for optimum dust
extraction for the OF 2200 router. With it’s innovative, retractable
extraction hood, chip catcher and rotatable extractor connector,
it provides up to 99 per cent dust removal efficiency, even when
routing edges.
The coupling of the base plate and motor unit mean that the
base plate can be moved up or down in 1/10mm steps. This
enables the cutter to be adjusted to the workpiece more easily
and with greater precision.
