WINDOW ON YOUR BUSINESS
Running a business is stressful at the best
of times, but even more so when you have
employees or sub contractors rushing
around the countryside and out of regular
touch with the office. Even worse if your
assets go missing.
Track In A Box, designed in Australia,
is a new online based GPS electronic
logbook, that not only tells you where your
staff are, but also where they have been,
with daily reports on their activities easily
downloadable. This data provides an instant
check on timesheets and fuel purchases,
and is invaluable for backing up manual
log books for tax purposes, or confirming
service visits with clients. It can also locate
your vehicles if they disappear.
Only 143mm x 76mm x 36mm in size,
and weighing about 300 gms Track In A
Box comes either in battery form requiring
no installation, and interchangeable from
vehicle to vehicle, or in 6 – 24W vehicle
powered form, installable in under thirty
minutes.

POPULAR PEG PULLER
The Peg Puller a unique Australian aid designed to assist concreter’s,
construction workers, farmers and fencing contractors to easily
remove traditional steel star picket posts has come along in leaps
and bounds since construction contractor Graeme Davis designed
and built the first unit about five years ago.
“The Peg Puller design is now subject to an international
design patent, we have licensed a company based in California to
manufacture them for the US market and we have been selling them
locally in Australia in increasing numbers.
‘Many farmers told me they would be helped by having a simple reliable removal tool’
Available in two sizes the Peg Puller easily removes either the short steel picket pegs
(shown) used to support concrete formwork or a larger model that is designed to
remove the traditional steel star pickets from fencing applications.
“I have been involved in concrete foundation pours and I moved
to design an aid that would pull out the steel support pegs typically
used to retain the boards while the concrete is poured and cures.
“I became frustrated one day watching one of my employees drive
the steel pegs full length into the ground after all his attempts to
remove them manually failed.
“I knew there must be a solution as the popular star pickets can be
extremely difficult to remove from fence lines in particular.
“Many farmers told me they would be helped by having a simple
reliable removal tool and we sell them regularly at the farm field
days we exhibit at” Davies added.
The secret to the Peg Puller design is a simple application of the
law of leverage and the choice of the right materials for strength and
durability.
All steel components of the Peg Puller design are laser cut for
accuracy and reliability, while the jaws which grasp the steel pickets
are manufactured in the extremely tough Bisalloy high tensile steel.
Davis says he wanted to produce a unit which would be a one off
purchase with a long service life.
The Peg Puller is a reliable, labour and material saving unit that
also solves the frustration of removing, replacing or recycling the
increasingly valuable steel star pickets regardless of their length.
